Primary instructor: Nick Cromwell, President, SLSC, Inc.

Course Description: Classroom training and Club Walk-Live Fire

Assessment will be one 9 hr class Saturday, 15 or 29 Aug, or 5 Sep 2020 (new members only need to choose one day) (0800-approx. 1700; check-in starts 0745.)

To develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

In addition to NRA RSO course material, we will discuss SLSC, Inc. ByLaws, Standard Operating Procedures and other SLSC, Inc. specific information to help orient you to your new club.

As a final assessment of your skills and safe gun handling knowledge and practices, we will conduct a brief live-fire assessment at the pistol Bulls Eye Range.

Class will run from 8 AM until ~5:00 PM. Please arrive promptly out of respect for other students.

***Due to the COVID-19 situation, class location is TBD, because we are looking for a larger venue in order to have a normal sized class***

Prior to Class:

Please send an email to Sanners.President@gmail.com and provide the following:

1. Confirmation you will be attending

2. If you will need eye and hearing protection

3. Make and model of your handgun(s) if you are bringing your own handgun(s) and factory ammunition

4. Any special needs/disabilities or physical limitations

Course includes NRA training materials and safety equipment (if needed.) Event will be held rain or shine.

What to bring/not do:

 Writing utensil.

 SLSC Inc. Standard Operating Procedures (**will be emailed to you prior to class, so you can become familiar with them prior to class.)

 DO NOT bring firearms or ammunition to classroom instruction, you will be told when to present your firearm for inspection, so LEAVE ALL AMMUNITION and FIREARMS IN

YOUR VEHICLE.

 Bring your own handgun and factory new ammo in a case to the range only. **Instructor will inspect all firearms before used on the range. (The instructor will have loaner handguns of several models to use and try if you need, but utilizing your own handgun is best)

If you are bringing your own handgun and factory ammunition, ensure sure your handgun is clean, lubricated and functioning beforehand. You should also bring your firearms operators’ manual. **Please leave all firearms and ammunition in your vehicles until directed to retrieve them for the Range portion.

***Live ammunition is NEVER allowed in the classroom**.
