This match at SLSC is an officially sanctioned USRA-IR50/50 match. IR 50/50 is a bench rest match shot with a scoped .22LR rifles at either 50 meters or 50 yards. There are 25 targets shot within 30 minutes. One shot per target square is allowed. Sighting shots may be taken in the sighter targets. Three relays (target sheets) per match are shot. There are three match types - 3-gun, Sporter and Unlimited. A 3-gun match is shot with a different class gun (Sporter, 10.5 lbs and 13.5 lbs) for each of the three relays in a match. The Sporter and Unlimited match shoots all three relays with the Sporter or Unlimited classed guns, respectively. More information can be found at the IR 50/50 website.

Sanner’s Lake IR5050 Rimfire Bench Rest

Weather: Sunny and warm, slightly humid
Beautiful weekend weather meant stellar shooting and stiff competition at the June IR5050 match at Sanner’s Lake. Match Director Jim D even jumped in with a borrowed gun to give it a shot. All the rifles were in the 10.5lb class this time which meant head-to-head battles across all the benches. When the smoke cleared it was Mark S on top with a high single score of 244-8X and a high combined score of 728-13X. Jake S was close behind with a 239-3X single score and 687-7X combined, while Dave C turned in a strong 639-4X combined to take third place. Detailed results are listed in the June Match report.
The next match is scheduled for 2 July so there’s plenty of time to get your rifle tuned-up, dialed-in, and competition-ready to see how it stacks up!
