This match is not an officially sanctioned USRA-IR50/50 match
but is similar in rules and requirements. IR 50/50 is a bench rest match
shot with scoped .22LR rifles at either 50 meters or 50 yards. At Sanners
our matches are shot at 50 yards. The 25 targets on each score sheet are
shot within 30 minutes. One shot per target square is allowed. Sighting
shots are taken as needed. Three relays (one target sheet each) are shot per
match for a total of 75 shots for record. We break down our classes into
Sporter, 10.5lb, and 13.5lb – see below.

Sanner’s Lake IR5050-style Rimfire Benchrest Match Report
2 September 2018
Weather: Hotter and humider!
Several shooters shrugged off the heightened heat and dismally damp dew point and managed to make it out to the range to shoot between the sweat drops at the September IR5050-style match at Sanner’s Lake. All of the competitors were veteran benchrest shooters but several were trying out new or upgraded rifles to see how they performed under match conditions. Mark S was shooting his silhouette rifle and was pleased to find out it did nearly as well with the cheaper (relatively speaking) ammo as it did with the pricey stuff, taking first place in the combined and individual score categories. Looks like he’ll be sticking with that rifle/ammo combination for silhouette matches! Mike B and his 10/22 posted consistently strong scores to take second place in the combined score category with a strong 614-3X, while Frank T was still dialing-in his Ruger Precision Rimfire rifle but managed to put it all together on his last string with a decent 213-2X. See the September Report for all the details. The next (and last) match of the year is currently scheduled for 7 October, although the club calendar currently shows a conflict with Appleseed that weekend, so stand by for an updated schedule...
