SANNER'S LAKE SPORTSMEN'S CLUB

Sanner's Carbine Classic

The Sanner’s Carbine Classic is a practical carbine match similar to an IDPA match but the firearm used is a carbine of intermediate caliber (muzzle energy ≤1875 ft·lbs). Competitors will be shooting primarily at paper targets interspersed with the occasional clay pigeon or other reactive target. While infrequent, there may be any number of "blind stages" during a match where the brief is limited and the competitor will not get the chance to see the stage before shooting. Round count per stage will vary depending on the stage and the amount of targets but will not exceed more than sixty shots required. Any carbine or rifle that complies with the muzzle energy limit is welcome but the emphasis will be on home defense and duty rifles. Nominal round count is 100-150, and all sign-ups will be via Practiscore.

Sanner’s Carbine Classic May 2026 Match Report

May 30, 2026

Thanks to this winter’s ice storm, we suffered through six bleak, agonizing months without a Carbine Classic match. Our dry spell was broken and we were blessed with perfect shooting weather for the first match of this year’s series.

The match featured five stages with classic challenges like hard leans, Mozambique drills, moving targets, and even moving non-threats. Even though he loses style points for using a PCC, Joseph Murphy dominated the match, beating the second place shooter by a whopping 10.66 seconds. Embrace the power of the rifle, Joseph, and your journey to the dark side will be complete.
